YANGON, Myanmar, September 24, SPA -- A massive march of 100,000 anti-government demonstrators in Myanmar's biggest cityended peacefully Monday, the Associated Press reported. The marchers, led by a phalanx of at least 20,000 monks,staged the biggest protests the country has seen since a1988 pro-democracy uprising. Some participants claimed there were several hundredthousand marchers in their ranks, but an international aidagency official with employees monitoring the crowdestimated the size was well over 50,000 and approaching100,000.
