Colombo, Oct 7, SPA -- The Sri Lankan navy sunk a ship carrying items forthe Tamil rebels off the southern coast on Sunday, dpa quoted a navy spokesmanas saying. The ship identified as MV Matshusima was destroyed some 1,700kilometres off the southern coast of Dondra after a long pursuit fromthe early hours of Sunday, Commander DKP Dassanayaka said. The officer quoting intelligence reports said the vessel wasbelieved to be transferring high-speed water scooters, sophisticateddiving apparatus and high power transmission equipment for the Tamilrebels of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE).--SPA www.spa.gov.sa/488741
