Pakistan PM receives new Afghan ambassador

ISLAMABAD, SEPTEMBER 10, SPA -- The newly appointed Ambassador of Afghanistan to Pakistan, Muhammad Anwar Anwarzai met Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz here today, said an official statement. Pakistan and Afghanistan have a deep rooted relationship based on shared history, culture, common faith, commonality of interest and economic interdependence and Pakistan wants to further strengthen the economic and trade ties with Afghanistan for which there is a great potential, Aziz said. He said that a sovereign, strong, stable and vibrant Afghanistan is good for its people and is definitely in Pakistan's strategic interest. Therefore, the Prime Minister said, "Pakistan has been consistently supporting Afghanistan in its reconstruction efforts as well as in its endeavors to achieve peace, stability and prosperity. On his part, the ambassador extended the greetings of the President of Afghanistan Hamid Karazai and said Pakistan is a brotherly neighbor and would like to further improve the economic and trade relations between the two countries. --SPA www.spa.gov.sa/481559
