BERLIN, August 15, SPA -- Three German police officers were killed in an attack in Afghanistan on Wednesday, and a fourth wasinjured, according to Germany's top security official. Kabul's deputy police chief initially said three Germansoldiers were killed when an explosion hit a two-vehicleconvoy on an unpaved road southeast of the capital. However, Interior Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble said thethree Germans were police officers deployed to Afghanistanto protect the German Embassy.
