Blast kills Three Pakistani soldiers

MIRAN SHAH, Pakistan, July 30, SPA -- A roadside bomb and militant rocket fire killed three Pakistani troops and wounded five others in the latest attacks on security forces near the Afghan frontier, officials said Monday. The bombing happened about 20 kilometers (12 miles) south of Miran Shah, the main town in North Waziristan tribal region, where militants this month pulled out of a peace deal with the government. The blast hit a pickup truck carrying Frontier Corpssoldiers Monday on the road between Bannu and Razmak, which was then sealed off by security forces trying to locate the perpetrators, the official said on condition of anonymity as he was not authorized to speak to journalists. The Associated Press quoted Army spokesman Maj. Gen. Waheed Arshad as saying that four FC troopssuffered minor injuries in the remote-controlled bombing.
