Damascus, November 24, SPA -- Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has received a telephone call from King Juan Carlos of Spain. The Syrian news agency reported that they exchanged views on issues pertaining to Annapolis summit meeting. Earlier Syrian foreign minister Waleed al-Muallem said Syria was awaiting the agenda of Annapolis, and said in the light of asserting the Syrian-Israeli track on the agenda of the meeting Syria will decide its position as regards the meeting. Al-Muallem said there is an unanimous Arab stand supporting Syria as regards its demand for inserting the issue of Golan Heights in the agenda of the meeting. Al-Muallem added that at the end of the session of the Arab foreign ministers today, Prince Saud al-Faisal, the foreign minister and chairman of the session, received the American reply in which US state secretary Rice reiterated that the Syrian demand will be met, and she hoped that Syria would participate in the meeting.--SPA www.spa.gov.sa/502670
