EREZ CROSSING, Gaza Strip, October 02, SPA -- Israel sent 29Palestinian prisoners back to the Gaza Strip on Tuesday,completing a release meant as a goodwill gesture ahead of aU.S.-sponsored Mideast peace conference this fall. The release of the Gaza prisoners was held up for a dayafter Israel's military chief expressed reservations overthe move. In the first stage of the release, Israel freed57 prisoners to the West Bank on Monday.
