Cairo, September 13 , SPA -- The Secretary General of the Arab League Amr Mousa described the statements made by Prince Saud Al-Faisal, the Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, on a possible boycott of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the International Conference for Peace called for by U.S. President George W. Bush scheduled in the United States next fall in the absence of a clear agenda as a very important position due to the ambiguity regarding the contents and of the agenda of the so-called conference. In a joint press conference with Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner of France here today, Mousa said that there are indications of a reduced ceiling of expectations. "We will not accept a mere a decoration", he said. He expressed his belief that none of the Arab countries would agree to attend a conference on peace the agenda of which are not clear and the parties involved not agreed upon, emphasizing, at the same time, that the Arab governments and people are serious in the peace process. Mousa said that President Bush's idea of holding an international peace conference is a good idea if the related issues were put straight forward and if we make sure that the International Meeting was designed to seriously address the issue with appropriate agenda and in the attendance of involved participants. Mousa emphasized that Arab initiative confirms the seriousness of Arab countries on the peace process--SPA www.spa.gov.sa/482520
