ISLAMABAD, September 04, SPA -- At least twenty-four people were killed and several dozens injured in two blasts in Rawalpindi, adjacent to Islamabad, Tuesday morning, police said. The first explosion took place in a bus, carrying government employees, near Qasim Market, which killed 15 people. The other blast occurred in the low income commercial area of R.A. Bazaar. The death toll may rise because of the condition of certain critically injured persons. Several persons wounded in the two explosions are in critical conditions. They have been shifted to two military hospitals of Rawalpindi. Security personnel have cordoned off the areas. There was no prior intelligence information regarding these blasts, an interior ministry official said. Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Maj-Gen Waheed Arshad confirmed that a blast took place in the Qasim Market.
