ISLAMABAD, August 19, SPA -- Afghan President Hamid Karzai has telephoned Pakistan's Interior Minister and Chairman of the Pakistani Jirga Commission Aftab Sherpao and felicitated him on successful conduct of grand Peace Jirga between the tribal elders of the two countries in Kabul last week. Appreciating the efforts of Sherpao for his coordination for holding the meeting of Peace Jirga, Karzai said the event was made possible due to his sagacity and leadership qualities, according to an official statement. Karzai said it reflects Sherpao's sincerity for peace and prosperity in the two countries and his affection for Pakhtun people. The Afghan leader said it was a historical event which would further improve bilateral relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
