China supports joint defense projects with Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, APRIL 27, SPA -- China has assured Pakistan it would continue its support for the existing joint defense projects with further expansion and also for initiation of new projects, said an official statement. The assurance was given to Chairman of the Pakistan Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Ehsanul Haq during a meeting with Chinese Vice Minister Jinchuang Long in Beijing. Haq said that both sides held talks on various projects including Al-Khalid and Al-Zarrar tanks, JF-17 Thunder aircraft, F-22-B Frigates, Chinese AWACS and F-10 High Tech fighter aircraft. He said that both sides held deliberations in the context of the follow-up of the recent visit of Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz to China.--MORE www.spa.gov.sa/444699
