Indian President returns after five-day tour of EU, Greece

New Delhi, April 29, SPA -- India's President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam returned here yesterday after a five-day visit to the European Union and Greece, the Press Trust of India reported He was received by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at the Palam Technical Area along with chiefs of three armed forces and senior bureaucrats. During his visit abroad, which could be possibly his last in the present term, President Abdul Kalam addressed members of the European Parliament where he emphasized for energy security for India by 2030. Later, in his travel to Greece, a state visit that came after 21 years, President Abdul Kalam met his Greek counterpart Karolos Papoulias and visited Hellenic Aerospace Institute besides delivering a lecture to a foreign policy think-tank. The 75-year-old President, during his speeches made it clear that countries should refrain from weaponisation of outer space.
