Amman, April 15 SPA -- The Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) Ekmeledin Ihsanoglu said in a press conference here last night that the OIC is exerting tremendous efforts to obtain a permanent seat at the United Nations and a permanent representation at the UN Security Council to help in resolving the current Islamic Issues. He said there is a need to activate the role of the OIC in the International arena as it represents 58 Islamic states." "The next Islamic summit will focus on bringing about improvements in the OIC. Moreover, OIC Ministerial Council which will be held in Pakistan in May will discuss activation and enhancing plans which will lead to serving better the Islamic issues," he added.--SPA www.spa.gov.sa/441079
