THE HAGUE, Netherlands, June 04, SPA -- Thousands of survivors of Europe's worst massacre since World War II sued the United Nations and the Dutch government Monday for their failure to protect civilians in the Srebrenica safe haven when Bosnian Serb forces overran it in 1995. The long-awaited filing of the law suit came on the daywhen former Bosnian Serb Gen. Zdravko Tolimir, one of the main suspects in the killings in which up to 8,000 men and boys died, was to enter a plea before the U.N. war crimes tribunal, the Associated Press reported. «The goal is not financial for the mothers and othersurvivors: it's about satisfaction,» said lawyer MarcoGerritsen, who will represent 6,000 family members ofvictims in the class action suit. «Unfortunately the U.N. and the Dutch state are not willing to take theirresponsibility _ they do not even want to talk about it.»--SPA www.spa.gov.sa/455797
