Warsaw, MAY 24, SPA -- US Assistant Secretary of State John Rood begantalks Thursday in Warsaw on his country's planned deployment ofmissiles in Poland, REPORTED DPA. The US official has already negotiated with the Czech governmentover the issue. The United States plans to deploy 10 interceptor missiles inPoland and a radar site in the Czech Republic. Poland and the United States have for the last two weeks beendebating the legal and technical questions in connection with thedefence system, which has proven controversial among the localpopulation. Prior to Thursday's talks, Polish Foreign Minister Anna Fotygasaid the results of the negotiations could not be predicted.
