ISLAMABAD, MARCH 22, SPA -- Pakistan successfully test-fired nuclear capable Hataf VII cruise missile Babar on Thursday, Pakistan Army said. With a range of 700 kilometers, Babar missile was successfully first tested in 2005, a statement issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), said. As per the practice, Pakistan informed its neighbours about the test-fire before hand. The precise location of the test-fire was not disclosed. Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Chairman General Ihsan and other high-ranking military officials were present on the occasion. President General Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz congratulated the scientists, engineers and technicians on the successful test-fire of Babar missile.--SPA www.spa.gov.sa/434616
