KANDAHAR, Afghanistan, May 17, SPA -- Two bomb blasts 15 minutes apart on a road in Kandahar city on Thursday killed seven people, including three police officers, a provincial police chief said. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the coordinated attacks, the Associated Press reported. The first blast _ a remote control bomb targeting a truck_ killed four private security guards, said EsmatullahAlizai, Kandahar province's police chief. About 15 minutes later, a secondary blast hit policeattending to the wreckage of the first bomb, killing theepolicemen and wounding four, Alizai said.
