Tehran, April 24, SPA -- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has reiterated that his country will never resort to the weapon of oil to defend its rights. In a statement to the Iranian Al-a'lem TV station, he said his country does not like to resort to the weapon of oil, and added that Iran's need of energy is steadily increasing at the time when its traditional sources of energy are about to be depleted. On Iranian-American relations, he said 'we have made it clear that if America changes its style, then we will be ready to conduct negotiations with it'.'We are ready to conduct negotiations with America in the presence of the reporters, because we lack a good experience in conducting secret negotiations', he noted. Ahmadinejad ruled out the possibility of launching war against Iran by America, because as he says, 'there are so many wise men at the White House who will prevent taking such a decision'. On the participation of Iran in the meeting of Iraq's neighboring countries, Ahmadinejad said the issue is under study, and Iran will conduct talks with Iraq in this respect. On the call of Iran to form a joint defensive system along with the countries of the region, Ahmadinejad said 'we are linked with the countries of the region with bonds of culture and history, and Iran is keen on coexistence, and moreover it believes that it will be possible for the countries of the region to solve their problems through joint cooperation and through enhancing the pillars of security and stability in the region in a comprehensive manner'.'We have no radical problems with the countries of the region, and through cooperation it will be possible to ensure security in the region'.--SPA www.spa.gov.sa/443787
