ISLAMABAD, September 02, SPA -- Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinos has phoned Foreign Minister Khurshid M. Kasuri and extended an invitation to him to attend a meeting on Alliance of Civilization, being held at United Nations on the sidelines of 62nd session of the United Nations, officials said. Both the foreign ministers discussed matters of mutual interest and exchanged views on various issues. On the invitation of Spanish Foreign Minister, Kasuri will participate in the meeting organized by Spain and presided over by Secretary General of the United Nations on Alliance of Civilizations . Kasuri told his Spanish counterpart that Pakistan supports efforts at various levels to bridge divides and overcome misconceptions and polarization which threaten world peace. Pakistan is supportive of concepts which promote cooperation to prevent confrontation in a globalized world, he said. The two foreign ministers agreed to meet on the sidelines of the 62nd Session of the UN General, scheduled to be held in New York this month to review progress in bilateral relations and discuss matters of regional and international significance.--SPA www.spa.gov.sa/479334
