TOYAKO, May 19, SPA -- Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said today that he has decided on a July 7-9 schedule for the Group of Eight summit to be hosted by Japan next year in the Lake Toya hot-spring resort area in Hokkaido, reported the Japanese news agency "KYODO". Abe also said Japan will officially call it the ''Hokkaido-Toyako Summit'' in Japanese as he spoke to reporters in Toyako, where he is visiting for the first time since he chose the town last month as the summit site. ''I was convinced that it is the right place to speak about the environment, which is one of the themes next year,'' Abe said after visiting various locations along with Hokkaido Gov. Harumi Takahashi. The locations included Windsor Hotel Toya Resort & Spa, the planned venue of the G-8 summit, which stands atop a 600-meter mountain overlooking Lake Toya.-- SPA www.spa.gov.sa/451113
