Aziz said that all stakeholders both visible and invisible in Afghanistan need to be recognized and involved in finding a settlement of the Afghan problem. The Prime Minister said Pakistan is of the view that a Marshall plan type approach needs to be adopted in Afghanistan to expedite the process of reconstruction and to bring about meaningful improvement in the lives of the people. The leader of the NATO parliamentary team, Karl Lamers, said the delegation shares Pakistan's views on Afghanistan and appreciates the important role being played by it to promote stability in the region. The delegation appreciated the reforms initiated by the government and termed its economic performance as impressive.
