TEHRAN, OCT 24, SPA -- IRANIAN PRESIDENT MAHMOUD AHMADINEJAD HAS REITERATED THE IMPORTANCE OF ENHANCING RELATIONS BETWEEN IRAN AND GEORGIA. HIS REMARKS CAME HERE TODAY DURING HIS MEETING WITH THE GEORGIAN FOREIGN MINISTER . AHMADINEJAD POINTED OUT THAT CEMENTING RELATIONS AMONG THE COUNTRIES OF THE REGION WILL POSITIVELY CONTRIBUTE TO THE DEVELOPMENT PROCESS IN THESE COUNTRIES. RECALLING THE EXISTING TENSION BETWEEN GEORGIA AND RUSSIA, THE IRANIAN PRESIDENT SAID 'SUCH TENSIONS WILL NEVER SERVE THE INTERESTS OF THE NATIONS OF THE REGION'.
