PRINCE SAUD Al-FAISAL NOTED THAT 'WE FEEL SORROW AND PAIN OVER THE STATEMENT OF THE POPE ABOUT ISLAM AND PROPHET MOHAMMED (PEACE BE ON HIM), AS WELL AS ABOUT THE CHARACTERISTICS OF ALMIGHTY ALLAH IN THE HOLY QURAN, AND WE ALSO HAVE DEEP SORROW FOR THE QUOTATION OF THE POPE ABOUT THE BIOGRAPHY OF THE PROPHET AND THE ALLEGATION THAT ISLAM WAS SPREAD BY SWORD. THE LECTURE (OF THE POPE) CONTAINED THE LOGIC USED FOR LAUNCHING WARS OF THE CRUSADE AGAINST THE MUSLIM WORLD. ' I FEEL IT IS NECESSARY TO REMIND YOU ABOUT THE EXTRAORDINARY ISLAMIC SUMMIT, HELD IN MAKKAH, ON DUMBER 7-8, 2005 , AT THE INVITATION OF THE CUSTODIAN OF THE TWO HOLY MOSQUES KING ABDULLAH BIN ABDULAZIZ, WHO HAD CONFIRMED AT HIS INAUGURAL ADDRESS THAT ISLAM IS THE RELIGION OF MODERATION WHICH DOES NOT TOLERATE EXTREMISM AND SHUTTING OFF DOORS FOR DIALOGUE AS WELL AS CALLED FOR CONFRONTING THE DEVIANT IDEOLOGY WITH ALL POSSIBLE MEANS'. "MOREOVER, THE KINGS , EMIRS AND PRESIDENTS OF THE OIC'S MEMBER STATES CONFIRMED AT THEIR FINAL COMMUNIQUE THAT DIALOGUE OF CIVILIZATIONS BASED ON MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING, RESPECT AND EQUALITY AMONG THE NATIONS IS AN ESSENTIAL MATTER FOR BUILDING A WORLD WHERE TOLERANCE, COOPERATION, PEACE AND CONFIDENCE PREVAIL AMONG THE NATIONS'.--MORE www.spa.gov.sa/389898
