Lebanese Prime Minister phones his Pakistani counterpart

ISLAMABAD, JAN 5, SPA -- Lebanese Prime Minister Fu'ad al-Senyoura has phoned Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and discussed different issues, according to an official statement. During the conversation, Aziz emphasized the need for unity, sovereignty and integrity of Lebanon, and said Pakistan is keen to see the situation in Lebanon returning to normal through peaceful resolution of all problems and issues. Aziz said Pakistan wanted progress and prosperity of Lebanon. Al-Senyoura updated Aziz on the latest situation in Lebanon and thanked Pakistan for its support and help to the people of Lebanon. The Lebanese Prime Minister also apprised the Aziz of the Middle East situation. Aziz said the Palestine situation is the root cause of the unrest in the Middle East and it must be addressed to bring about lasting peace in the region. The two leaders also discussed bilateral relations and agreed to further strengthen the existing ties in all the fields. Aziz thanked his Lebanese counterpart and said Pakistan had always supported the people of Lebanon and assured to continue the same in future.--SPA www.spa.gov.sa/415942
