Iraq's neighbors should have role in peace building: Danish premier

COPENHAGEN, Denmark, NOV 22, SPA -- Denmark's prime minister on Wednesday told a U.S. special advisory commission that efforts to promote peace in Iraq should include neighboring countries in the region. Anders Fogh Rasmussen explained Denmark's view on Iraq's future in a phone conversation with former U.S. Secretary of State James A. Baker III, whose advisory group is expected to issue its report on Iraq to U.S. President George W. Bush soon. «The situation in Iraq is very much influenced by theconditions in the region and I emphasized the importance to include neighboring countries to promote a peaceful development in Iraq,» Fogh Rasmussen said in a statement.
