BAGHDAD, Iraq, Nov 22, SPA -- A U.S. soldier died of a non-battle injury north of Baghdad, the military said Wednesday. The soldier died Tuesday in Salahuddin province, themilitary said, providing no other details about what hadhappened. The service member, whose name was withheld pending notification of relatives, was assigned to the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division. The death raised to at least 2,866 the number of U.S. servicemen who have died since the beginning of the Iraq war in March 2003, according to an Associated Press count.
