ISLAMABAD, FEB 3, SPA -- A total of two million Afghans have been registered in the largest-ever registration exercise by the government in Pakistan, officials said. The government extended the final deadline to mid-February to facilitate more Afghans to register. Registration is being conducted by Pakistan's National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) in collaboration with the Commissionerate for Afghan Refugees (CAR) and the UNHCR. The two million Afghans registered since last October account for over 80 per cent of the target population of 2.4 million Afghans in Pakistan.--SPA www.spa.gov.sa/422598
