Tel Aviv, Oct 29, SPA -- Israel's foreign minister has canceled plans to travel to Qatar because the Palestinian Authority is sending a delegation of Hamas lawmakers to represent the government at a U.N. conference taking place there, a ministry official said Sunday. Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni's trip was to be the firsthigh-level trip by an Israeli official to the Gulfstate in 10 years. But Mark Regev, a ministry spokesman, said Livni haddecided against the trip when she learned that lawmakersfrom the Hamas-led government were to participate in theconference, the Associated Press reported.
