BAGHDAD, Iraq, Oct 7, SPA -- A U.S. soldier was killed in fighting in northern Iraq, the U.S. command said Saturday. The soldier, assigned to the 3rd Brigade, 82nd AirborneDivision, died on Friday while conducting operations nearBeiji, 250 kilometers (155 miles) north of Baghdad, themilitary said.
