ISLAMABAD, AUG 24, SPA – Foreign Minister Khurshid Kasuri has not ruled out a meeting between President General Pervez Musharraf and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York next month. “Willingness should be shown by both the sides as you cannot clap with one hand,” Kasuri told reporters after inaugurating a seminar. He said Pakistan was willing and committed to continue the peace process with India as it was in the interest of the people of Pakistan and India. Referring to the Mumbai blasts in which 200 people were killed and over 800 injured, the Foreign Minister said there could be political compulsions on the Indian government. He said it was not the way to stop the peace process and added that Pakistan was not pleased with the Indian reaction. Kasuri said the Foreign Secretary level talks should continue, as these were vital for the development and economic prosperity of the region.--SPA www.spa.gov.sa/384672
