BEIRUT, Lebanon, Nov. 11, SPA -- Cabinet ministers from Hezbollahand its allied Amal party resigned from the Lebanesegovernment on Saturday, throwing the country's politicallandscape into chaos hours after rival politicians failedto agree on Hezbollah's demand to form a national unitygovernmentm accirding to The Associated Press. Hezbollah and Amal said their ministers resigned becauseall-party talks on forming a national unity governmentamong rival political factions fell through and governmentwas trying to impose conditions on the negotiations,according to the guerrilla group's Al-Manar television. Al-Manar, quoting a statement from Hezbollah and Amal,said the ministers quit because they refuse «to cover upwhat we are not convinced of and what might damage thesupreme national interests.» Their resignations alsoresulted from authorities «insisting on imposing terms andpremature results for negotiations,» Hezbollah's TVstation said. --SPA www.spa.gov.sa/402351
