New York, Nov 11, SPA-- The United States blocked a resolution condemningIsraeli artillery attacks on the Gaza Strip in a vote Saturday at theUnited Nations Security Council in New York, according to DPA. The US ambassador to the UN, John Bolton, rejected the Qatar-sponsored resolution at a special sitting of the UN body. Ten of 15 members of the council voted in favour of theresolution, while four abstained. A "no" vote by one of the five permanent members of the SecurityCouncil - the US, China, Russia, Britain and France - is enough toquash a resolution.
