KATHMANDU, JULY 27, SPA -- CHINESE VICE FOREIGN MINISTER WU TAWEI ARRIVEDIN THE NEPALESE CAPITAL THURSDAY ON WHAT WAS DESCRIBED AS A THREE-DAYFENCE-MENDING VISIT TO NEPAL, REPORTED DPA. LEADING A 10-MEMBER CHINESE DELEGATION, WU TAWEI WAS THE FIRSTSENIOR CHINESE OFFICIAL TO VISIT NEPAL AFTER THE POLITICAL TURMOIL INLATE APRIL THAT RESULTING IN STRIPPING THE COUNTRY’S KING OF ALLEXECUTIVE POWERS. TALKING BRIEFLY TO NEWSMEN AT THE KATHMANDU AIRPORT, WU SAID HEWOULD MEET WITH POLITICAL LEADERS DURING HIS VISIT. HE ALSO SAID THATCHINA WOULD PLAY A CONSTRUCTIVE ROLE IN THE ONGOING PEACE PROCESS INNEPAL. APART FROM MEETING PRIME MINISTER GIRIJA PRASAD KOIRALA, DEPUTYPRIME MINISTER AND FOREIGN MINISTER K.P. OLI AMONG OTHERS, THECHINESE DELEGATION WAS ALSO EXPECTED TO MEET WITH SENIOR LEADERS OFALL POLITICAL PARTIES.
