ISLAMABAD, OCT 6, SPA – Pakistan and Australia have expressed the desire to further enhance and broaden bilateral cooperation between the two countries, says an official statement. This was discussed during a meeting between Defense Minister Rao Sikandar Iqbal, and the visiting Australian Chief of Defense Forces, Air Chief Marshal Angus Houston. Both sides discussed the geo-strategic situation of the region and underlined the need for greater cooperation between the two countries to promote peace and stability in the region. The Minister briefed the visiting dignitary about the steps taken Pakistan against the menace of terrorism and extremism. Iqbal told Houston that Pakistan was firmly committed to fight terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. The Minister highlighted the achievements made by Pakistan against this common enemy of mankind.
