KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, Oct 28, SPA -- Britain's deputy prime minister said he wants to use his Malaysia visit to learn about the country's formula to create peaceful coexistence among its different religious communities. John Prescott, who arrived in Malaysia late Friday for afour-day visit, said there has been much discussion inBritain on achieving «community cohesion.» «I'm keen to learn more about Malaysia's approach tobeing a successful multiethnic, multi-religious andmulticultural society in a rapidly changing world,» hewrote in a letter published Saturday in a Malaysiannewspaper, The Star. «In a world of increasing interdependence, where massmigration and urbanization are bringing together more andmore people from differing cultures and religions, we needmore understanding, more dialogue and more cooperation,» Prescott wrote. Prescott said he would visit the Islamic Art Museum inKuala Lumpur on Sunday and meet leaders and scholars. Malaysia's foreign ministry said Prescott's visit wasexpected to focus on investment, education and research. He is scheduled to travel to the Forest Research Institute on the outskirts of Malaysia's largest city, Kuala Lumpur, and to visit the country's information technology park at Cyberjaya, as well as a Nottingham University campus.--SPA www.spa.gov.sa/398550
