GCC Foreign Ministers to hold meeting in Jeddah

RIYADH, AUG 30, SPA -- FOREIGN MINISTERS OF MEMBER COUNTRIES OF THE ARAB GULF COOPERATION COUNCIL (GCC) WILL HOLD THEIR 100TH SESSION IN JEDDAH ON TUESDAY (SEPTEMBER 5, 2006), UNDER THE CHAIRMANSHIP OF THE UNITED ARAB EMIRATES (UAE). GCC SECRETARY-GENERAL ABDULRAHMAN AL-ATIYYAH SAID 'IN VIEW OF THE CURRENT DEVELOPMENTS IN THE ARAB REGION, A GREAT IMPORTANCE WILL BE ATTACHED TO THE MEETING OF THE GCC FOREIGN MINISTERS'. HE SAID THE MEETING WILL REVIEW THE ONGOING NEGOTIATIONS WITH THE ECONOMIC GROUPS AND COUNTRIES. THE MEETING WILL ALSO REVIEW THE CURRENT POLITICAL ISSUES NOTABLY THE ISRAELI VICIOUS AGGRESSION AGAINST LEBANON AND THE DEVELOPMENTS IN THE OCCUPIED PALESTINIAN TERRITORIES, AL-ATIYYAH SAID IN A PRESS STATEMENT.
