BEIRUT, Lebanon, AUG 30, SPA -- Israeli warplanes flew over Beirut and parts of eastern and central Lebanon on Wednesday, a senior military official said. The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to make statements to the media, said the Lebanese army would issue a statement about the Israeli over flights later Wednesday. Since a U.N.-brokered cease-fire ended fighting between Israel and Hezbollah on Aug. 14, Israeli jets and drones have routinely flown over southern and eastern Lebanon, apparently on reconnaissance flights, the Associated Press reported.
