Moscow, AUG 23, SPA -- Russia will continue to probe avenues for politicalcooperation with Iran over its nuclear programme, DPA QUOTED the ForeignMinistry in Moscow as saying Wednesday, a day after Tehran proposedfurther talks with the international community. "It is important to understand the nuances and to seek out theconstructive elements, if there are any," spokesman Mikhail Kamyninsaid of Iran's reply to a Western offer of incentives to halt itsuranium enrichment work. This would show how to proceed with further negotiations, Kamyninadded. There were no immediate details of the reply conveyed to Britain,China, France, Germany and Russia. But Iranian chief nuclearnegotiator Ali Larijani said Tehran was ready to start "serioustalks" as soon as possible. Major powers in June offered Iran a package of incentives thatincludes delivery of a light-water reactor and the long-termprovision of nuclear fuel if it suspends uranium enrichment. Iran risks penalties if it fails to meet the UN Security Council'sAugust 31 deadline to give a full response.
