ISLAMABAD, PAKISTAN, JULY 24, SPA – Seventeen Pakistanis detained in different jails of Afghanistan would soon be released and return to their homeland, Interior Minister Aftab Sherpao said. The release of detained Pakistanis has been made possible by successful negotiations between a delegation of high ranking officials of Pakistan and Afghanistan, the minister said in a statement. The Pakistani delegation led by Additional Secretary Interior recently visited Afghanistan for talks on release of detained Pakistanis. Sherpao said that during the talks, a Joint Working Group comprising officials of Pakistan and Afghanistan was constituted for release of Pakistanis languishing in different jails in a phased manner. --SPA 24/07/2006 12:41 ت م www.spa.gov.sa/377798
