Washington, June 17, SPA -- The U.S. House of Representatives on Friday rejected plans to create a timetable for pulling U.S. forces out of Iraq, after eleven hours of debate about the ongoing conflict. In a 256-153 vote, the Republican-led legislature approved a non-binding resolution that declared the Iraq war an essential part of the larger war on terrorism, and rejected an “arbitrary date for the withdrawal or redeployment.” The House vote came just one day after the Senate rejected similar proposals for deadlines on troop withdrawal by a 93 to 6 margin. --SPA 17/06/2006 13:30 ت م www.spa.gov.sa/369260
