MAKKASH, JULY 18, SPA -- The Makkah-based Muslim World described Tuesday, the call of the Rabbis’ Council in the occupied West Bank for the Israeli government to kill civilians in Lebanon and Gaza Strip as "an inhuman practice which runs counter to the teachings of the heavenly religions and international laws and agreements, notably the world declaration for human rights and Geneva’s fourth convention which ban aggression on civilians. In a statement issued here today by its General Secretariat, MWL’s secretary general Dr Abdullah Bin Abdul-Mohsin Al-Turki said the MWL and the nations, minorities and organizations represented in it do deplore and condemn killing of civilians and carrying out terror acts against innocent people in Lebanon and Gaza. "They also condemn and decry the allegations which say that the Torah allows killing of children and women during war times’, he said. "Moreover, Islam, like other heavenly religions, advocate peace, harmony and security. It prohibits killing non-Muslim civilians who are not involved in the war and aggression." "The call of the Rabbis’ Council for killing innocent civilians in Lebanon and Gaza including children and women, constitutes a flagrant injustice, and leads to terrorization of people. It also encourages carrying out vicious terror acts against unarmed civilians’, he elaborated. Dr Al-Turki drew the attention of the international community to the serious repercussions of such calls and their adverse impact on the security of the region, and said actually such calls are actually appeals for terrorism and bloodshedding. He urged the organizations of the human rights, the UN and the international security council to exert the required efforts for the protection of the civilians who are killed on daily basis in Lebanon and Palestine. --SPA 18/07/2006 14:06 ت م www.spa.gov.sa/376401
