ROSTOV-ON-DON, Russia, Dec 5, SPA -- Militants opened fire on amilitary convoy in southern Chechnya, killing one Russiansoldier and wounding two more, the Interior Ministry saidMonday. The attack occurred Sunday in the Itum-Kale region ofChechnya, which borders on the former Soviet republic ofGeorgia. Also Sunday, three alleged Chechen rebels were killedduring a special operation, said Ruslan Atsayev, spokesmanfor the Interior Ministry's Chechen department.
