Gaza city, March 11, SPA -- Hamas has told Palestinianparties they must decide by Monday whether to join aHamas-led government, a spokesman for the group said Saturday. Hamas won Palestinian parliament elections in January,securing an absolute majority in the legislature, but hasbeen holding talks with other parties on setting up acoalition government. Hamas spokesman Salah Bardawil said two smaller factionswere expected to join _ the Popular Front for theLiberation of Palestine and Independent Palestine of human rights activist MustafaBarghouti. He said there are still differences between Hamas and thedefeated Fatah Party of Palestinian President MahmoudAbbas. Fatah leaders have said they would not join a Hamasgovernment, according to a report of the Associated Press. Bardawil said Hamas on Saturday sent letters outliningHamas' political program to all parties. "We gave them twodays to evaluate and study this program," he said. He said a final round of talks with representatives fromall parties will be held Monday.
