DILI, EAST TIMOR, JULY 6, SPA -- EAST TIMOR’S NEW GOVERNMENT, HEADED BY NOBEL PEACE PRIZE LAUREATE JOSE RAMOS-HORTA, WILL BE SWORN IN WEDNESDAY, A SENIOR PRESIDENTIAL OFFICIAL SAID SUNDAY. THE ANNOUNCEMENT CAME A DAY AFTER RAMOS-HORTA WAS NAMED PRIME MINISTER, A MOVE AIMED AT ENDING TWO MONTHS OF VIOLENCE AND POLITICAL UPHEAVAL IN THE FLEDGLING NATION WHICH KILLED 30 PEOPLE AND DROVE AROUND 150,000 FROM THEIR HOMES.
