Islamabad, March 3, SPA -- Pakistan's capital, Islamabad, has been put under high alert with deployment of more than 10,000 troops and security personnel for the protection and safety of US President George W Bush, who flies into Pakistan Friday night, officials said. Bush will arrive at the Pakistan Chaklala Air Force Base near Islamabad after the sunset and all roads leading to the airbase have been sealed. President General Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz will receive Bush along with the US ambassador in Islamabad at the airbase. Bush will be taken straight to Aiwan-e-Sadr (presidential palace) where a state banquet and a concert would be awaiting him. Security agencies have got vacated the posh Serena and Marriott hotels and the Punjab House to host the guests. Thousands of army and paramilitary troops, in addition to the Islamabad police, have taken their designated positions to ensure foolproof security arrangements, officials said. The sprawling Constitution Avenue and the Diplomatic Enclave have been designated as "no-go" areas during Bush's presence in Islamabad. Security agencies have searched the private apartments with the help of sniffer dogs and gathered the details of the residents. The residents of these apartments have been asked not to come out from their homes when Bush was in town. Meanwhile, a shutter-down is being observed in most parts of Pakistan particularly major cities on the call of the opposition to protest the printing of blasphemous cartoons of the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) in some European newspapers.--SPA 11 44 Local Time 08 44 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/336254
