Washington, March 3, SPA -- The United States has given tepid support to upcoming talks between three top European Union (EU) nations and Iran over Tehran's nuclear energy program. State Department deputy spokesman Adam Ereli said Britain, France, and Germany-called the EU-3-talked to the United States about Friday's ministerial talks, which were requested at the last minute by Iran. "We're under no illusions" about the possibility of a breakthrough, Ereli told reporters. "As we have throughout this process, we're supportive of the EU-3. I think we're working well together," he said. "Let's see what happens on Friday." The talks come ahead of a March 6 meeting of the United Nations' nuclear monitoring group. The International Atomic Energy Agency is to deliver an assessment of Iran's nuclear energy program that will be sent to the U.N. Security Council.--SPA 11 35 Local Time 08 35 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/336253
