Washington, JUNE 15, SPA -- The United States said Wednesday it is prepared to work with “all parties” to establish peace in Somalia ahead of the first meeting of a group Washington created to support the east African country. “The United States is ready to work with all parties to seek a peaceful solution and the re-establishment of effective governance in Somalia,” the State Department said in a statement. The United States, Britain, Italy, Norway, Sweden, Tanzania, and the European Union will be represented at the Somalia Contact Group meeting Thursday at Norway’s U.N. mission in New York City, a U.S. official told AFP on condition of anonymity.
