Al-Quds city, Jan 3, SPA -- A Jewish settlement has been illegallybuilding homes on what appears to be private Palestinianland, the Israeli army's Civil Administration said Tuesday. Modiin Illit _ a large settlement right on the Israel-WestBank frontier _ was ordered last week by the CivilAdministration to halt the construction, but has failed todo so, said Lt. Adam Avidan, the administration'sspokesman. The administration is still trying to determine who ownsthe land, but it appears the settlement has been buildinghomes on private Palestinian lands, Avidan said.
