Damascus, Sept 18, SPA -- Syria offered on Sunday to participate in efforts to stop violence in Iraq and renewed its call on the United States for a dialogue to improve strained relations. The latest Syrian offer came two days after Washingtonreiterated its accusations that Syria was not doing enoughto prevent anti-U.S. militants from crossing its borderinto Iraq, according to a report of the Associated Press. "Syria is fully ready to contribute toward preventing thebloodshed of the Iraqi people and to enable them to reachtheir hoped-for goals," Tishrin, a Syrian governmentnewspaper, said in an editorial. "Syria has stressed this fact to the Americans and hascalled them for dialogue and cooperation," it said. "It'sstill sticking to this stand and to its call.
