Washington, Sept 20, SPA -- US Treasury Secretary John Snow will hold day-long talks Thursday with Iraqi Finance Minister Ali Allawi to discuss the restive country's economic future, a Treasury official said. The meeting will be joined by Iraqi central bank governor Sinan al-Shabibi and senior Treasury staff, including officials in charge of tackling extremists' finances, spokesman Tony Fratto said. "It will be a good look at Iraq's economy and the economic reforms they are putting in place, and how they are getting in position to complete the debt deal and IMF financing," Fratto told reporters. The Paris Club of 19 creditor countries, including the United States, Japan, Russia and European Union nations, agreed in November 2004 to write off 80 percent of the money it was owed by Iraq over three years. The meeting will take place a day before Snow holds regular talks of the powerful Group of Seven nations, ahead of this weekend's annual meetings of the IMF and World Bank here, according to a report of AFP - the French News Agency.--SPA1242 Local Time 0942 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/290579
